Fatherhood and Success

Like everyone these days my goal is to be the best me possible.  I have found that saying is the easy part but actually doing is the hard part. Goal setting is easy if you know what it is you want out of life and working towards the goals is the difficult part. And to top it off being a father and husband added to that. We sometime get caught up in the routine called life. Being a husband and father takes effort and time, its beautiful thing not easy but beautiful thing.

Having them cheering you on at times when you think you cant go on anymore  is motivation in and of itself.

What i have learned since the last post it that to be a successful individual one must have these things: Focus, Drive and Determination. and To be a father you have to be there, don't miss the everyday little things of life, Spending time is invaluable.

Having a healthy body as well as mindset is important. Eating right and exercising, reading and spending time in the word. learning, building up the whole man goes a long way in helping you getting to the place where you want to be.

Everyday we should be learning, I look at my kids and see how care free they are and how they enjoy life. We have to get that mindset towards life , follow your dreams and have fun going the process. Time goes by so fast to miss whats really important.

Instead of looking at fatherhood and success as two separate thing they are actually "joined at the hip" being a great father is the definition of success.

Being Successful can't be voided of having a great family life. Often times i see that as a result of being success people , men especially ted to neglect the family side and achieve in the work arena. We should to look at them both as whole and not separate unrelated parts of our lives.

"The love of family and the admiration of friends in much more important than wealth and privilege" charles kuralt.

When it all boils down we cant neglect whats really important.

P.S. Chase those dreams without haste but don't neglect the family because of it.

The Journey

Martin Luther preached years ago "Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn't matter with me now, because I've been to the mountaintop.
And I don't mind'",

Someone who devoted his life to the betterment of others and lived a selfless life. Sometimes on our road to success we have tunnel vision and disregard everything and everyone around us but if we were to stop and think, savor the process and the people we come in contact with, see the lessons to be learnt we would be allot better as persons.

While my success may be of benefit to me i cannot help but make sure the message is preached to those around me that it is a process, one of self discovery , of growth and most importantly a learning experience. I may not get it on the first go but i have to continue. It isn't easy but by simply trying and giving it my all i will at some point achieve what it is that i want. I cant let distractions (people) stop me. Folks wont understand and wont be able to see your dreams, no matter how you try to explain it to them. you must not lose focus and allow doubt, complacency and laziness get the best of me.
As we approached the last quarter of the year i realize i was on the sidelines of my own journey because of the former things. I shall not quit now even though i have seen small victories and experienced allot of failures i cant quit now. The rest of my life depends on it.

As i embraced the journey my hope is that you do too. For again i say it isn't easy. Stay focus and Trust God for with His help and your(my) commitment success is just a journey away.

As Martin said " I Have a dream" and its your (MY) job to make it a reality.

Failure

I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. –Michael Jordan

Failure when doing anything is inevitable , that's the difference people who try and fail than those who don't try at all. failure is never easy and shouldn't be the norm, it should teach you to try harder adjust somethings and try from a different point of view, different methods.

While i haven't been doing what it is i want to i will not quit, success is a journey and one that is filled with bumps and bruises. ups and down twists and turns.

i rather stumble and fall while trying, rather not try at all.

Which type of person are you ? Someone who doesn't try at all and makes excuse or one who has that never give up no matter what mentality.

might not get it on the first or second or third try but don't give up

Trials & Temptations

In life its easy to get off track and hard to get back on. We get discourage even though we have accomplish so much and a little slip up derails the progress. Thing is anything that we try to accomplish we will face tests and trials but what really counts is how you recover.

Keep Focus on whats ahead not contemplating on what you have just pasted. Leave the past behind. While times of testing will come and you might begin to doubt your self, stand firm. Remember its a journey, its about whats ahead not what you left behind.Times of failure develops the character in us. The real us come out when we respond in a manner that's to be commended.

Trials and temptation are just that. Speed bumps on the road to success. See them as they are and just roll over them cautiously and .......

Just Keep it moving

The Power Of Dreams

You can ask anyone of power or significance and they will say that they got to where they are on a dream. Dreams are powerful. If you are a person of faith the bible says without vision the people perish. You think we would have Google, if it hadn't been for a dream or apple Microsoft etc. Whats a dream ? "Dreams are successions of imagesideasemotions, and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep" W have to think it, ponder on it, mediate on it, and eventually it seeps into our subconscious mind and we think about it more as we sleep.

When i Started this Journey i knew it wasn't going to be easy. I takes allot of time and effort, to do anything, while we fall down allot, We have to get up when we fall.
So a journey starts with a step, and that dream us your step but it doesn't just stat there. Write them down, turn them into mini goals , long term, short term goals. Have an action plan and don't just be a "Dreamer" .

The Dream is the start, it gets the ball rolling but the goals and planning keeps it moving in the right direction.
Don't lose focus. Have that never back down, never quit attitude towards all of your goals. Keep dreaming, Visualize it, Make it plain, write it down and put your blood, sweat and tears in it.
I realize i will have to fight, to improve my quality of life. Do allot extra. When the world sleeps, you work. Dream Big dreams, they are a powerful tools to success.

Put your emotions in it, after all it is what you want. Everything starts from a dream. So keep Dreaming. It has limitless power once acted upon.

I wont Stop, My journey continues ............

Think it, ponder on it , Visualize it, write it down, plan on it, achieve it

When the going gets tough

Well, 2nd month into the new year, and the journey continues.  In a effort to get healthy and lose a few pounds i have started the insanity series asylum. Tough to say the least but i will keep at it. Reading my books are going well , just about half way through the James Allen one and the other reading that off and on.

Started to get up early to get that insanity done so im usually in bed by ten. Not easy. Teaching and a family and finding balance now is the challenge.

This weekend is Superbowl Sunday if your a sports fan and lover of american football, you know this is the mecca of sports entertainment that climaxes this weekend. While my team isn't( Go Phins) there still gotta watch. Good time to have family over, friends and enjoy company, and an excuse to fire up the grill.

What i have learnt also this month is the importance of being teachable. Have a wiliness to learn also is to take responsibility for everything. You (i) control my future what happens. You don't have to accept the status quo. Have fight and stick-ability. No mater what obstacles you face stand firm and don't quit..

Strengthen your faith and believe that there is a God and this will get better. Heard a saying on time, "if its meant to be , its up to me" so make things happen. There is always an opportunity to change.

Start Now

The hardest part to doing anything great or of significance is starting. We make all kinds of excuses why we cant do , what we need in order to do, before we could do anything. We psych ourselves out before we accomplish anything.

That's my problem. I like everyone makes excuses as to why not, there are opportunities in everything , situations that we think are bad there is always a silver lining (good movie by the way). look for the why and not get so caught up in the why not. People who achieve greatness do so because they live in the "what i have now" i want to be one of those persons and live in the now.

Therefore i don't believe in happenstance , coincidence everything happens for a reason. Make the most out of every opportunity. You only have this time once and it never comes back.

A quote from An enemy called average "Don't Spoil what you have by desiring what you have not"

15 Days In

Made a big step in my journey, what is it you ask? Well i decided to put down coffee for about a while and i mean a while, stopped buying fast food....this is going to be rough. Working with two kids and a wife gonna take effort to get up and cook and also plan my food and meals daily.

Also i started a food journal and daily activity. Also I'm embarrassed to say haven't gotten any workouts in yet. i know 15 days in and nothing. Lets see whats the next 15 will be like. Have a few exams i want to study for and take also some ideas on getting my business jump started i want to do, we will see what the next 15 days brings.

Food is my biggest challenge in getting a healthy lifestyle me like anyone don't like waiting so  i want quick fast an hurry. so its going to take me to do a lot to get this in check, But practice makes perfect, well not necessary but it builds habits.

Time for me to drop the bad habits and pick up the new ones. Vowed to drink more water so I'm about to almost 60oz a day which isn't much but a start. so the journey continues.

Be the change you want to see. Be about it don't talk about it!!

Strike First and often

I am an avid football fan. Statistics show that the team that scores first and often usually wins the game, regardless of the cliche that defense win championships, at the end of the game its usually the one with the most points that wins. Ties don't count as losses or as a win its nothing, it's a tie. Who wants to spend their lives just getting by, doing just enough, always on the defensive. I hate black and white. We need color in our lives.

Why strike first you may ask. Simple who wants to always be on the defensive ? Offensive games are exciting , think about an offensive life........... imagine the possibilities. I have said during my time that i don't want to just get by , I have tried the mediocre life, Its not very exciting and its very bland. Do i face trials yes everyday, everyday above ground is a great day, why not spend it scoring some points. I've talked about small victories earlier and will continue to do so.

The only way to get anything in life is to take the offensive and strike first go after your goals, dreams and aspirations at the end of the day really what do you have to lose ? I always like to say No regrets and never let go of what you want. Because at the end of the day really what do you have to lose.

Shalom
